How do you feel about the current forum categories?
Anything you'd like to see added/removed/changed?

it'd be nice if there was a specific "Brawl" format sub-forum since some including myself are familiar with brawl in MTGA yet have no real experience with official Commander/EDH format paper or otherwise

it's not a big deal though either way

The reason I didn't include it was because the list of formats is already quite long, and I had to draw the line somewhere. If I include Brawl, then I feel like I should include all Arena formats, which is too much for sure.
For the time being, feel free to post anything related to Arena-specific formats in the Arena section, that seems like the most appropriate place for the time being. I'm taking note of your suggestion, but not gonna make any changes until/unless I get more feedback on it.

Brawl is pretty popular among the Arena crowd :D

That's what scroll buttons are for anyway.

On the topic of categories imho offtopic should have an Official Tavern section for talking about who you are irl or irl interests, and a section for RPG style conversations/posts (sort of the fantasy portion if you will?). Just a suggestion but that's something I recall being part of a lot of these old style forums.

Alright, alright... I'll find a way to get a Brawl board up that makes sense. It's been quite a while since I've used PHP or CSS, but I'm re-acclimating. I'm thinking the best way will be to make the 'Formats' section a toggle-able drop down, so that the list of formats doesn't take up the whole screen when you first see the main page, but when you toggle the section it drops down the BBL (Big Beautiful List).

I am gonna go ahead and make a "Socials" forum in the 'Other' section, where people can post intro threads and discuss meetups or other social stuff. 8-)

Edit: Honestly WW, it's kinda strange having to re-acclimate to this type of board... it's been probably a decade since I've been on a PHP board like this. Setting it up and getting it going has been bringing back a lot of good memories. I completely forgot about a lot of the 'forum games' and roleplaying boards that used to exist... maybe this forum can serve to bring some fun back into a world that's become far too serious. That's the goal, anyway! :mrgreen:

I hear that. Whenever I look at old Jquery/js code and try to recapture what I was doing 15 years ago my mind goes blank for a second.

I maintain a few sites and admin a few more and that means occasionally dipping back in. I've been meaning to refactor/redesign my own site and just haven't had the will to do it because ugh.

(It needs more artwork, lyrics, etc that I have done over the many years since I last reworked it just as an example.)

How about tabs going across giving you a variety of different subfori (sic?)

such as:

Formats
---> Standard related
--> --> Standard tournaments, Standard Best of One, Standard Best of Three (but casual), Standard Brawl
--> Alchemy
---> Pioneer related
--> --> Explorer Bo1, Explorer Bo3, fully Pioneer

And so on. The arrows being how the tabs differentiate.

eh haven't had my designer hat on in a long while and never for forum coding so that's probably not a coherent idea.
