so cast your votes i guess
do you think we'll ever see "free gems" daily deals again or did Hasbro do away with them forever in pursuit of higher profit margins?
I think they might bring them back if there's some public outcry about it

I don't think they're ever coming back. One of the most glaring problems with Arena is the internal "economy", if you can even call it that. Gems and wildcards cost way too much IRL money, and because of the artificially increased "worth" of the gems (in terms of what they cost, not in terms of what you can purchase with them) they can't justify giving any of them away. Whoever made that decision wasn't the brightest, because giving away a small amount of currency (that can only be spend in Arena) would almost certainly drive more people to make purchases in the store.
Honestly, I've pretty much given up any hope for Arena, and am investing most of my HopeCoins™ into the alleged new Commander-inclusive platform that may or may not be in development.

The magic 8-ball is broken on this one but imho Wizards thrives on being unpredictable. Expect the unexpected and hope they give it to us again.

You're not the boss of me now
One of my frustrations with Arena is their utter disinterest in adding anything like an actual economy to it. And not just frustration because I'd enjoy that, but frustration because they're just not bothering to make the game so much better than it could be.Kurt wrote: Sun Jul 20, 2025 7:19 pm I don't think they're ever coming back. Right? Like, it doesn't even need to be a communal economy with trades or anything, just at least give use some sort of wildcard/gem/card exchange, or something. It would greatly increase the incentive to play, for me at least.Malvastor wrote: Mon Jul 21, 2025 2:31 am You're not the boss of me now

Edit: Also I'm glad someone got the song reference. I'm getting a real urge to do a full watchthrough of MitM, but that is quite a commitment

Yeah, as it is so much of what you do in the game there's little to no reward for. Congratulations on your nth win of the day! Here's a random common you already have four of, you get jack.Kurt wrote: Mon Jul 21, 2025 3:17 amRight? Gets relatively little attention but it's one of the greatest sitcoms of all time in my opinion. And does it without a laughtrack which is pretty impressive for when it came out.Kurt wrote: Edit: Also I'm glad someone got the song reference. But yeah it is a lot of show to watch.
